QUOSA launches free article downloading service with PubPDF Beta
Web service gives PubMed users 1-Click access to PDFs, automated file naming, and downloading within the PubMed user interface
June 16, 2010– Waltham, MA. QUOSA Inc. today announced the launch of its free PubPDF Beta service (http://pubpdf.com) that provides PDF visibility and one-click access from any PubMed search result.
Users work directly in PubMed, within the PubMed interface, so they can be sure of getting all of the search results available from PubMed.
In addition, PubPDF offers:
- Automated batch downloads of multiple PDFs and abstracts
- Automated file naming with configurable naming conventions
- An article organizer to review and group PDFs complete with their citation data
- Export references to EndNote and Reference Manager
PubPDF is a parallel product to QUOSA Browser Plus. PubPDF works exclusively in PubMed. Both products retrieve, name, and download PDFs from PubMed. QUOSA Browser Plus also works with other gateways and includes sharing options.
PubPDF is also the first free Beta product made available for use and customer feedback as part of QUOSA Labs (http://www.quosa.com/quosa-labs), a QUOSA initiative to expose emerging products to end users.
“I am very excited to be adding this new strand to the way we develop QUOSA products in close collaboration with our customers,” says Malcolm MacKenzie, President of QUOSA. “Providing a simple but powerful product as a free service will enable us to reach a wide and large user base faster than ever. It will thus give us rapid end-user feedback which benefits not only the product itself but will impact our whole product suite. PubPDF is a great first candidate as it addresses a well-known need while still allowing users to get the full benefit of the PubMed gateway itself."
